Don Juan Vives Brunet was born in Son Servera in 1933, the only son of poor parents. He married Doña Antonia Tous Alcina and had two daughters: the oldest, Margarita Vives, is today the manageress of the Apartments Arcadia Cala Millor.

In 1962, the marriage Vives/Tous bought the lot located at the corner of Calle Rafaelet with the Paseo Marítimo. There they opened a small souvenir shop in 1963, where today the Arcadia Apartments Cala Millor are.

After several years, the couple decided to demolish the store and build, instead, a hostel with 27 rooms. This hostel obtained one of the first licenses of tourist exploitation in the area of ​​Cala Millor.

The Vives Apartments are part of Apartments Arcadia Cala Millor, were built in 1980 and 1982. Over the years, these 6 apartments have been remodeled and modernized.

In 1998 an integral reform was made in the hostel Arcadia, in which only the walls and the columns remained. Of the 27 rooms, 12 apartments were created. In 2016 another major renovation was made in these apartments.

Don Juan, founder of Arcadia and Vives, undoubtedly one of the best location in Cala Millor, conveys much joy and optimism. He always smiles and likes to chat with his guests. Of course, he had to learn languages in his day.

With many efforts and enthusiasm, Don Juan has managed to successfully raise the apartments Arcadia and Vives. Today, at age 83, he enjoys watching them work year after year. He even continues to help her daughter in some tasks.
